A modern MUD client for ducks (and humans) of refined taste.
Windows and macOS may need a one-time trust step before they'll run the download โ see Installation for the per-OS command.
Every install keeps itself up to date โ the other methods self-update from within Mallard. With Flatpak, updates are handled by Flatpak and your desktop instead: install once from the Mallard Flatpak repository, and new releases arrive via flatpak update and your software centre alongside the rest of your system.
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists mallard https://dl.vnsf.xyz/mallard.flatpakrepo
flatpak install mallard net.mallard.app
flatpak run net.mallard.app
Prefer a one-off download? The standalone .flatpak bundle still works, but won't auto-update.
Mallard was built from the ground up to be performant and beautiful, and will delight you with little things like input autocompletion, reverse incremental search over input history, and integrated full-text search over game log history. There are built-in themes, and Mallard, as well as its plugins, can integrate seamlessly with your favourite theme.
Mallard's plugin marketplace makes it easy to find, install, and manage plugins. The plugin permissioning system lets you know exactly what a plugin can do when you install it. Interested in plugin development? Mallard's plugin hot-reloading and API documentation make hacking on plugins a joy.
Mallard has great alias and trigger management, with free-form tagging so you can organize how you want. And if you ever wonder about what aliases or triggers a plugin is providing, you're in luck, because Mallard will tell you, and even let you toggle them on and off individually, in case you like 90% of what a plugin does, but want to toggle the other 10% off.
Mallard is built with the help of the following ducks.
